My Homemade Sketchbook

I made the inside cover with some decorative paper on both the front and back sides
The paper I used was Carson drawing paper and a waxed thread for binding. I even added a bookmark :)

I made a sketchbook. It has been something I've always wanted to try to do but always had plenty of excuses not to do. After I finished it my wife loved it so much that she has been using it as her prayer journal. As far as how I made it, I made a long detailed documentation on my hobbyhog site at blogspot. There is also an awesome tutorial on this site, but I believe it is under journal, so you might check there. I'm pretty excited with this one especially since it was my first one. And I have plenty of materials to make another one as well, and hopefully my wife won't steal this one ;-)

Re: Homemade Sketchbook/Prayer Journal

HobbyHog,

Your homemade sketchbook is beautiful! I think the fact that your wife "took it over" says something great about making a sketchbook or journal for a homemade gift.

I especially LOVE it that she's using it for a prayer journal, I bet it's perfect for such meaningful writing since it was made by hubby...

Thanks for sharing!!!

If anyone wants to read more about HobbyHog's homemade sketchbook, here's a link to his blog.

Regarding the tutorial mentioned, we do have several homemade journal ideas that make great gifts as well as a couple super easy tutorials (sort of a half homemade approach!)...
